About the campaign

This campaign supports the Emmanuel Hosiptal Association in India

India's surge of Covid cases is overwhelming the medical system, causing shortages of urgent medical supplies for critically ill patients. Your support is greatly needed.

India is witnessing a surge of a highly infectious strain of SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) second wave which is overwhelming for the government and the people.

The coronavirus crisis is torpedoing the economy and burdening the medical infrastructure. The second wave of Covid-19 pandemic is presently spreading rapidly across the country with over 350,000 new cases and more than 3000 deaths reported on a daily basis. It has caused a sudden surge of critically ill patients affected with Covid-19, which requires immediate medical care and socio-economic support.

There is a shortage of beds in the hospitals, shortage of oxygen supply, not enough testing kits, PPE kits and other medical equipment. India‚Äôs infections are the second highest in the world at around 18.7 million, with no sign of slowing down the infection. Experts are warning of a worsening Covid-19 situation in India in coming days.

The Project seeks to adequately equip a COVID Care Centre to provide Medical care for Covid positive patients and those whose symptoms are suggestive of Covid infection in District of Janjgir, Champa, Chattisgarh.
