Ukraine Appeal
About the campaign
We invite all Australian community members to together join with us in supporting the people of Ukraine.
We are all deeply concerned and saddened by the recent and ongoing events in Ukraine, especially for the lives and wellbeing of the civilians on the ground who have been thrust into conflict.
The International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA) is in regular contact with doctors and dentists throughout the country through the Christian Medical Association of Ukraine (CMA).
CMA is deeply committed to mitigating the effects of the conflict through caring for the wounded, displaced and homeless, offering protection and support to refugees and serving in frontline health facilities.
Emergency Appeal
Healthserve Australia, in conjunction with ICMDA and Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship of Australia (CMDFA), is conducting an appeal that will go toward resourcing and supporting Ukrainian Christian doctors through communications, medical supplies and other aid.
We invite all Australian community members to please give generously to support the people of Ukraine.

Equipment & supplies needed
For frontline support:
- Means for stopping bleeding - bandages, hemostatic wipes, tourniquets (carprosphere, celox, combat gauze)
- Atraumatic scissors
- CPR face shields
- Bag valve masks (Ambu bags)
- Antiseptics
- Rubber gloves
- Tablets for water disinfection
- Sodium chloride solution 0.9% (in soft packages)
- Syringes 2, 10, 20 ml
- Intravenous catheters
- Thermal blankets
- Nasopharyngeal airways
- Plasters
- Hydrogel burn dressings/bandages
For first aid population:
- Antipyretics (paracetamol)
- Analgesics (pentalgin)
- Against intoxication (imodium, activated carbon)
- Antiallergic (suprastin)
- Drugs for intestinal infections
- Throat sprays
- Anti-inflammatory drugs
- Medical masks

It has a special relationship with the largest group of Christian health professionals in Australia, the Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship of Australia (CMDFA) through which it was established. Many of the CMDFA members have worked for a number of years overseas in health work.
