Healthservians gather for Annual Sydney Conference

Last Saturday, 1st December, a committed group of "Healthservians" gathered at Roseville Anglican Church to draw together the work of Healthserve Australia for the 2018 calendar year. About a dozen people came to the venue - but another half dozen 'zoomed' in or phoned in to speak about their healthcare work, ministries and programs.
We heard from The Chair of the Board, Dr Paul Mercer from Brisbane, Dr David Nikles recently returned to Australia from China, Dr Nicola Fitzgerald in Melbourne about her work with the PICCSI program in Fiji and Dr Les White and his work across South East Asia.
There was an address from Melinda Choy on the Hainan Program, John Oakley on the PNG Healthcare Manual Program, Michael Burke on the year's events and achievements, Rev Santino Rang Yuot talked about the Wedweil Program in South Sudan and newcomers to our ranks from a Sydney Liberian community spoke to us about their plans to work on the healthcare offered in West Africa.
I spoke briefly on the Healthserve fun-run events, including the next one from Dee Why to Manly on Feb 2nd next year.
We were well fed, well informed and had plenty of opportunity to catch up with our friends and make new ones.
Many thanks to our donors and supporters for 2018
We thank God for an amazing year, and ask God's blessing as we go forward.
- John Gumbley (HSA Administrator)

HSA works in partnership with other international organisations, complementing their strengths with health resources. It has a special relationship with the largest group of Christian health professionals in Australia, the Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship of Australia (CMDFA) through which it was established. Many of the CMDFA members have worked for a number of years overseas in health work.
